AVIVA-Redaktion

schir – art concepts and Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design invite artists living and working in Germany to apply for a residency in Jerusalem in spring 2011. Application deadline: 29. August 2010

The residency program allows the artist to experience the urban context of Jerusalem, to connect to the Israeli art scene and to work freely
for three months.

The selected artist will receive living quarters and a studio space in Jerusalem from the end of February until the end of May 2011. A team of art professionals will assist the artist in practical aspects of the stay and introduce him/her to the art scene. Furthermore, the artist will become part of the thriving department
of photography at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, participating in activities and entering in a dialogue with faculty and students through workshops or talks. In addition, the artist will have a single exhibition in the beautiful exhibition space Yaffo 23 in the center of Jerusalem.
The exhibition will run for five weeks, with a festive opening in the middle of May 2011.
